Do you enjoy poetry but have never written a poem yourself?
Are you a passionate writer, but have never dared to share your words?
Have you ever dreamt of writing a book?
Does the idea of writing excite you, but the fear of judgement holds you back?
Then please join me in The Castle Bookshop Café for a unique poetry course.
While we sip a coffee, we let ourselves be inspired by the truly enchanting environment of this amazing bookshop!
Experience an intuitive approach to poetry, while you ignite your inner flame of creativity. The wisdom of books embrace us as we connect with ourselves and others in the space between the words.

Let’s enter into the world of words together!

We live in language, ...
... and language lives in us. Poetry is an expressive art that intersects wisdom and well-being. Poetry has always been a part of us. Poetry appears to be built into the hardwiring of our brain and into the energy of our souls.
We are all poets.
Unfortunately, many of us were introduced to a different approach to poetry. We were asked to analyse and interpret poems whose meanings were dressed up in the myth, the mystery, the metaphor, the rhythm, the sound, the tone and the context of the writer. We were asked to separate the subject and the object like we do in everyday language and prose.
Poetry lives outside these dualistic limitations and lives in the space that may reside beyond mere consciousness. In poetry, we enter into our own experience. Poetry is a mirror. The teaching of poetry in school often left out the most important piece.
The missing ingredient in poetry is us!

What Others Say:
“Nicole’s warmth, openness and generosity of spirit were her most likeable aspects but so much more! My favourite part was the warmth and connection from the moment we arrived! The pace was my very favourite.”

"Sadhbh’s poetry is a sacred ritual, a meditation in words. Her verses are an invitation to slow down and inhabit the present with a sense of wonder. With each line, she unveils a new facet of our shared humanity, offering solace and inspiration."

The Poem
No other drug
has the ability
to let you flee
as well as grow
like poetry.
She sucks you in
and spits you out
she can be quiet
can be loud
she heals and cuts
and twists and turns
she cools and aches
and bleeds and burns
she swirls your thoughts
and calms your mind
she rips the wrapping
and looks behind
she blesses and prays
and asks and plays
she writes your story
she dreams
she cares
she takes your worry
she bares
your mind
and wraps it up
she flows through you
if you don’t let her stop
she conjures magic
soothes your soul
she is not just a poem
she is you
she carries you through
and leads you
home.

The modern Irish mystic John Moriarty asks a question, “What use are poets in times of need?”
The poets and their poems are healers. They wash us, they heal us and they guide us to return back to the source of being human.
We are in a time of need spiritually, psychologically and ecologically.
Poetry has always been a bridge to change and to connection.
Poetry helps guide us back to our collective soul.
We are in this world and it is in us.
Poetry is a door to home.
